Oracle SOA Suite 11g Troubleshooting Methodology

Both Harold Dost III and Ahmed Aboulnaga recently presented the topic titled Oracle SOA Suite 11g Troubleshooting Methodology at the UKOUG Conference 2012 in Birmingham on December 4th. We'd like to thank all those who attended.

Loosely based on the troubleshooting chapter from Ahmed's recently published book, the presentation intended to share a troubleshooting methodology for Oracle SOA Suite 11g instead of the typical resolution to common problems often found in other troubleshooting guides.

Topics covered included:
  • Where to start in the troubleshooting process
  • Parsing logs and increasing logger levels
  • Understanding thread dumps
  • Checking for server-wide performance issues, such as infrastructure resources, JVM, data sources, and performance summary graphs
  • Using SQL to get instance specific metrics
  • Describing the deployment process, encompassing cleanup, validation, compilation, and deployment
  • The DMS Spy Servlet and EDN logging
We hope that those attended found the presentation to be beneficial and learned from it. As always, we can be contacted through this blog for any issues you might be having and we'll do our best to respond.

A copy of the presentation can be downloaded here.

See you all next year!
