At a current customer, we implemented an impressive java framework for file transfers, based on Quartz.
It does the following:
- Designed for file transfers (including extremely large files)
- No complicated transformation
- Supports FTP, SFTP, FTPS, CIFS (aka SMB), VPN, PGP
- Scheduling, triggering, encryption/decryption, renaming, archiving, streaming
- Can perform post-transfer actions based on success/failure
- Web-based GUI
It seems that Oracle is soon releasing the Oracle Managed File Transfer (MFT), which does all of this and more! Where were you guys 6 months ago?!
I attended a presentation on this product, and it appears to be extremely useful, easy to use, and covers 100% of all requirements you could ever imagine being needed by a file transfer tool. It definitely fills in a much needed gap and complements the other Oracle integration tools very well.
