High CPU caused by TortoiseSVN process TSVNCache.exe

Problem:

The TortoiseSVN process "TSVNCache.exe" constantly occupies the CPU.

Solution:

This is because TortoiseSVN is scanning your entire file system to update its internal cache.

This can be simply fixed by doing the following:

1. Right-click on any folder, and navigate to TortoiseSVN --> Settings --> Icon Overlays

2. Under "Exclude paths", set it to c:\*

3. Under "Include paths", include all folders in which your SVN code exists

Applicable Versions:
  • TortoiseSVN 1.6.6

How to add multiple drives, should they be separated by, or put one drive in each line or both are allowed.. pathetic UI to add directories.. svn should consider changing this part of the UI something similar to windows environment variables setting in OS i.e appending path
